Canvas LMS Admin LTI 1.1 to 1.3 Migration Guide

Prerequisites
To follow this guide, you will need

permissions to install external LTI tools into your LMS.
a class in your LMS to test the installation in.
How CourseKata Works
CourseKata content is built and hosted on our servers and delivered via <iframe>
over the LTI protocol to your Learning Management System (LMS). To make this work, you will need to install both the CourseKata application as an external LTI tool, as well as the content as modules in your course. If you’re reading this document, you already have the LTI tool installed with the 1.1 protocol, so this document work through how to install the updated tool—and then how to get the course content linked up with your class.
Installation and Deployment
Start by following Canvas (LTI 1.3) LMS Admin Install Guide to install the LTI 1.3 tool
Create a class to setup with CourseKata and import the cartridge as usual
In the class, go to the Settings | Apps | App Configurations and check that CourseKata only appears once. If there are two, one will usually be locked --- this is the LTI 1.3 version as it is installed at the system level. Delete the other CourseKata app (it was probably accidentally imported with the course content)
