If you will be paying for CourseKata directly rather than through your campus bookstore, you will make payment from within your learning management system (LMS; e.g. Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Brightspace).

Trial Period

Most classes come with 14 days of full access for free, with no requirement to enter any payment details. During this trial period, you will be able to use the textbook normally, with no restrictions. All work you complete during this trial period will be saved and will continue to be accessible after you pay. Your instructor will be able to see your responses during this time even if you decide not to purchase access.

Making a Payment

When you click on a page of the book, above the content you will see a banner with information about your free trial period as well as a purchase link. The number of days remaining in their trial period will count down in the banner. When the trial has elapsed, you will need to provide payment in order to continue to access the materials.

If you dismiss the banner by clicking the X on the right, the information and purchase button can be found by going to the My CourseKata + Jupyter page in the textbook and choosing the Account tab.

When you click on Purchase Access, you will see a screen explaining what you are paying for, some information about CourseKata, and information about how long you are purchasing access for. Additionally, you will see information about how long you will have to request a no-questions-asked refund, which for most classes is within 2 weeks of purchase.

We take your information seriously: payments are handled by Stripe, a payment provider trusted by millions of companies worldwide.

Trial Period Expired

If your trial period has expired, when you click on a page in the textbook you will see the following message:

Your free trial of CourseKata has ended. To continue accessing your CourseKata textbook you need to upgrade to a paid version.
